Under the Patronage of
Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai
ICSB is devoted to the advancement of entrepreneurship and the interests of small businesses worldwide through research development, career advancement opportunities, online and digital events, and partnership initiation with community groups.
Founded in 1955, the International Council for Small Business (ICSB) was the first international membership organization to promote the growth and development of small businesses worldwide. The organization, a potent source of expertise and knowledge, brings together educators, researchers, policy-makers and practitioners from around the world to share knowledge and expertise in their respective fields through publications, programs, workshops, training sessions and certifications.
Throughout the years, ICSB has helped entrepreneurs successfully start and grow their businesses. We are also the originators of the United Nations’ resolution to create International Name Day for micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises, MSMEs. June 27th is now a day set aside to raise public awareness of the contribution MSMEs make towards sustainable development.
The cross-sectional platform presents through conference, networking, educational, and promotional opportunities. ICSB continues to use their platform to support and uphold those working in the field of entrepreneurship world-wide.
In addition to the multitude of programs and events hosted by ICSB, ICSB houses two academic journals: the Journal of Small Business Management (JSBM) and the Journal of the International Council for Small Business (JICSB).
JSBM. Initially created as a platform for scholarly research publications in the fields of small business management and entrepreneurship, the JSBM is now recognized as a primary instrument for projecting and supporting the goals and objectives of ICSB. The primary purpose of JSBM is to publish scholarly research articles in the fields of small business management and entrepreneurship.
JICSB explores the many dimensions of micro, small, and medium sized enterprises (MSMEs) policy, economic development policy supporting MSMEs, and MSME performance. The purpose of the JICSB is to advance research and knowledge of policies and economic development as they relate to improving the performance and sustainability of MSMEs. To achieve this, JICSB emphasizes the relevance of the authors’ contributions to MSME practice.
