His Highness the Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al-Thani, issued the decree No. 50 of 2011, by which H.E. Sultan Rashid Al-Khater was assigned as Undersecretary in the Ministry of Economy and Commerce. H.E. Sultan Rashid Al-Khater held many leadership positions in the sectors of energy and industry, the last one of them was the General Manager and Board Member in Qatar Fuel Additives Company, Ltd. Al-Khater has held many other positions before, including the Maintenance Director for Liquefied Natural Gas facilities, and Executive Director of Strategic Planning in RasGas, and has considerable sixteen years of experience in the gas industry. H.E. Al-Khater holds an Executive MBA from HEC-Paris in Qatar in 2012 and a BS in Mechanical Engineering with honors from the University of Qatar in 1996. Al-Khater also holds representation and membership on the following bodies:
- Board of Directors member for Qatar Central Bank
- Board of Directors member for Qatar Leadership Center
- Board of Trustees member for Qatar Germany Partnership.
- Board of Governors member for Qatar Foundation’s Qatar Academy – Al-Khor
